My mom flew in from Charlotte for a visit last Thursday.

She spent lots of quality time with the boys over MEA, prepared a delicious meal alongside Jeremy, and–once I was able to recover a bit from feeing sick–she and I enjoyed a few carefree hours having lunch and doing a little shopping.

My favorite part of her stay? Hearing her giggle over card games and stories with the boys.

Isn’t it abundantly clear from this photo how much I wanted to be near her as a child? How much I wanted to be just like her?

She’s an incredible woman. Resilient and adventurous in many ways. Wise. Private and faithful. Intriguing. Created for great things.

Thanks for coming to stay, mom.
