I know that many of you will disagree with me, but this is the date upon which I think New Year’s should be celebrated. September is too packed with work and activity, January too dreary. Taxes have yet to be filed.
Instead, give me the newness and rebirth and infinite possibility of May 1st and I will joyfully shout “Happy New Year!” as well as “Happy May Day!”
It’s also the Duchess’s birthday. How fitting, n’est ce pas?
